2006 HRINZ HR Award Winners
2006 HR Initiative of the Year, National Winner:
Toll New Zealand
Recruitment Centres in themselves are not new, but what impressed the judges about this entry was the way it linked HR strategy to the business and its culture. In fact the centres have been a platform for launching HR strategy. Impressive features were, how Toll NZ implemented the recruitment centres, the organisational impact and their intended future directions based on their learning to date.
Financial structuring gave further accountability and has allowed rigorous measurement of return on investment. Using the recruitment centres was not mandated in the organisation so they had to compete against manager’s historical recruitment practises. Uptake has been high. Recruitment centres have been instrumental in changing the culture of the organisation and now the initiative is being exported to the parent company in Australia.
Congratulations to Toll New Zealand.
