Philippa Jones

Philippa impressed the judges with the levels of influence and credibility that she developed in very diverse and challenging work environments.

Philippa is a major influence in the area of organisational development and strategic development, all the while ensuring that her team is still delivering on the operational imperatives of the day-to-day HR challenges. Philippa was instrumental in the success of the Performance Excellence programme introduced by the Christchurch City Council, a base from which they have been able to leverage significant change. The success of the programme was recognised with the Professional Excellence Study Award in 2006.

A proven developer of people, one of Philippa’s protégés, Connie Nicholson, was herself named the inaugural Young HR Practitioner of the year at the HRINZ Awards last year – a double coup for the successful Christchurch City Council HR Team.
