2009/2010 Young HR Practitioner of the Year
The 2009/2010 Young HR Practitioner of the Year
goes to:
Michael Peters
Michael was appointed 2 years ago at the age of 25 to the National Human Resources Manager at Quality Bakers New Zealand.
In the last 2 years, Michael has built the HR team and transformed the perceptions of the HR function to a highly credible and critical business partner.
The judges were impressed by the number and range of value-adding initiatives that Michael and his team had delivered for the business.
From radical restructuring and downsizing achieved with no legal fallout, to transforming Trade Union relationships, introducing a raft of training programmes, implementing Talent Management strategies and improving HR processes such as recruitment and remuneration and performance management.
Michael demonstrated to the judges his clarity and passion for advancing the HR function and his commercial pragmatism and well-developed relationship building skills. Such as combination of competence is rare and the judges look forward to following his career advancement in the years to come.
Congratulations Michael.
