Craig Morris FHRINZ

Craig started his career in Human Resources in Canada, more years ago than he cares to remember (or tell).  When he immigrated to New Zealand in the early 80’s, he arrived with his wife Rosemary, two infant sons, and two steamer trunks, to start a new life.  His first job was as Personnel Manager at AHI Plastic Film Company in Mt Wellington.  It was at that time that he joined the then-IPMNZ.  After a couple of years Craig was invited to move with his Managing Director, to Oasis Industries where he took up the role of Group Personnel Manager.  After a few years with the Coca-Cola franchisee, he left to join the Mutual Group of Companies (AVIS, Mutual Holidays, Eagle Airlines) as National HR & Training Manager.  In 1988 Craig joined Ernst & Young as National Education Manager, where he remained until returning for a few years to Canada.  On returning to Auckland, Craig joined the firm Arthur Andersen, in 2000 joined TVNZ as a Human Resources Manager, and in 2006 joined Manukau City Council to head its Human Resources Division. 

On the HRINZ front, Craig is presently an Elected Member of the HRINZ Board, a past-President of the Auckland Branch Committee, served for a number of years as Convenor of the Grading Panel, continues to serve as a member on the Grading Panel, and was made a Fellow of the Institute in 2007.
