Duncan Brown
Duncan Brown has a Bachelors Degree in Management, receiving Honours, majoring in Human Resources Management. He has worked as a Human Resources Consultant in the United Kingdom, as a People and Performance Consultant for Westpac and is currently the head of People and Performance at Deloitte.
The judges felt Duncan had done an outstanding job in raising and promoting HR in an environment not traditionally associated with strategic HR involvement at a senior level. He has developed a true partner relationship and is now fully embedded at core business functions including partner selection and strategic decision making including branding decisions.
The judges also noted that Duncan is integral in ensuring the consistency of quality people practice remains paramount across a diverse and geographically spread business and in an environment where managing strong opinions is a day to day occurrence. He has maintained the balance of traditional corporate brand values and modern innovative media based attraction strategies.
