Tips for Entering the Awards

Preparing your Application

  1. Read through the entry form first
  2. Prepare your material (answers, CV if applicable, statement from senior manager)
  3. Prepare the statement of support from your Senior Manager (if applicable)
  4. Copy and paste your material into the on-line entry form
  5. Attach the statement of support from your Senior Manager (if applicable)

Statement of support from Senior Manager or CEO
(this confirms that your manager supports your entry)

  1. Print the template (download template - Word Doc)
  2. Fill in the gaps
  3. Get the relevant person to sign it
  4. Scan the hardcopy
  5. Submit it with your entry (under attachments on the entry form)

Referees

  1. Ensure your referees know that you have named them as referees in your entry
  2. Check that they will be available when the judges call during September and October

Video Footage

All Distinction Winners will need to supply a short video once they’ve been advised of their success. This will be used in the national judging process and an edited clip will also be used at the National Presentation Dinner. If you have a communications team in your organisation it is advisable to have them on standby to film you (and your team if applicable). If you don’t have access to a communications person or team we’ll supply you with a video recorder and instructions so that you can do it yourself. There will be just two working weeks (10 to 21 October) to do this and get the footage to HRINZ (either by email in a zipped file or in a DVD).

Interviews with National Judging Panel

All Distinction winners will be interviewed by a National Judging Panel, using Skype, webinar technology or teleconferencing. These interviews will be undertaken between 25 and 31 October and after the National Judging Panel has viewed the Distinction Winners’ videos.
