Judging Process

All entries are to be submitted electronically via this website prior to 5pm on 1 September 2011.

Once entries close on 1 September they will then be judged by one of three regional judging panels between 2 September and 10 October.

Regional Judging

Each regional judging panel will consist of HR and business leaders from the region and will be led by a regional judging co-ordinator, who will also form part of the National Judging Panel.

Regional Judging Panels will advise their decision to HRINZ National Office. HRINZ National Office will advise all entrants of the outcome of their entries prior to 20 October.

Your local HRINZ Branch may hold an event to acknowledge and celebrate regional winners and this may happen before or after the National Awards Presentation Dinner which is being held on 24 November 2011. You will know prior to the event of your entry status.

Two levels of acknowledgement will be made – Merit and Distinction.

  • Merit acknowledges the contribution of the individual or initiative, but Merit winners do not go forward to national judging.
  • Distinction identifies the recipients in each region who will go forward for National Judging.

National Judging

Two National Judging Panels (one for the HR Initiative of the Year and one for the HR People of the Year) will judge all Regional Distinction winners between 10 October and 31 October. All Distinction winners will be interviewed by a National Judging Panel, using Skype, webinar technology or teleconferencing. These interviews will be undertaken between 25 and 31 October and after the National Judging Panel has viewed the Distinction Winners’ videos.

The overall winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner in Wellington on 24 November 2011.
