About the HRINZ HR Awards

The HRINZ HR Awards are designed to recognise excellence within New Zealand’s HR community.

It is a programme which is designed to encourage individuals and HR teams to reflect on their experiences, projects and learning. This reflection provides those entering with an opportunity to participate in a process of discovery, awareness, acknowledgment and achievement which in turn provides an insight into the value that HR adds to organisations.

Past entrant and winner of Young HR Practitioner of the Year, Matt Carter said
“The reflection process required for the awards application was extremely beneficial and hugely affirming and rewarding for both myself and my employer, Otago Polytechnic”

It is a hugely rewarding experience to step back from working in your organisation to enter a process which defines your personal achievements and the journey you have taken. This process provides far reaching benefits and enormous value to anyone entering, regardless of the final outcome.

Recognised benefits in entering the Awards include

  • increased profile from sharing your story
  • personal acknowledgement from within your organisation
  • recognition from your community for you and your organisation

Past winners have found a significant increase in interest from media and wider business organisations. HRINZ HR Award winners are frequently invited to speak around the country at various conferences, seminars and business events.

An important component of the HRINZ HR Awards is the ability for others within the profession to learn from your experiences and be inspired to continually improve all aspects of HR within their own organisations.
