Special Recognition Awards

In addition to the main award categories there are two Special Recognition Awards which can be awarded to any entry received in the above categories.

Main Award Categories

HRINZ HR Initiative of the Year

The HRINZ HR Initiative of the Year category was created to acknowledge the good work being done by HR teams who introduce innovation into HR practices.

It is not about ‘business as usual’ but rather about quality initiatives that have been created by thinking and acting outside the square and which also have significant impact on business performance. It is also an opportunity for members of the business community to recognise the contribution that HR can make at this level and to raise the profile of HR as a business partner.

Applicants are required to demonstrate to the judging panel how the success of their HR Initiative has contributed to the overall business performance of their organisation and/or sector. The HR Initiative will have been developed in the previous five years and must be able to show results.

Initiatives could be based around one or a combination of the following HRINZ HR Competencies:

  • Business Knowledge
  • HR Delivery
  • Personal Credibility
  • Strategic Contribution
  • Business Technology

More information of the HRINZ HR Competencies can be found on the HRINZ website.

To be eligible to enter this Award there has to be a New Zealand connection, either as a New Zealand owned-company, or one that has significant operations and staff in New Zealand.
